We started our charter in 1950 to serve the employees and the family members of the Big Spring Veteran's Hospital. Through the years, the charter was changed to include several select employee groups. Today, we not only serve Big Spring Government Employees and their families but as of January 2007, we now are able to serve all of the citizens of Howard County. Effective in September 2007, the credit union's name changed from Big Spring Government Employees Federal Credit Union to the Big Spring Community Federal Credit Union.

Big Spring Community Federal Credit Union is a progressive, full-service financial institution. We provide quality service as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and democratically controlled by its membership. We are guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer committees. All members get one vote for the Board of Directors, regardless of the amount on deposit in the Credit Union. By saving at the Credit Union, you help provide the funds for members who need to borrow. Only members may use the service and share in the benefits of Big Spring Community Federal Credit Union.
